FURG has a Central Library located in the Carreiros Campus and 7 (seven) Sectorial Libraries. The facilities of the Central Library include individual study rooms and a collective room for consultations. The library collection can be consulted on the internet. The journals of the main areas of knowledge are available for local consultation. The FURG Library is divided into eight units: (1) Central Library of the Carreiros Campus, (2) Sectorial Library of the Health Academic Area, (3) Sectorial Library of the Graduate Program in Oceanology, (4) Sectorial Library of the Museum Oceanographic, (5) Sectorial Library Green Room Judith Cortesão, (6) Library of the Santo Antônio da Patrulha Campus, (7) Library of the São Lourenço do Sul Campus, and (8) Library of the Santa Vitória do Palmar Campus, all available to the university community. The ARGO System, an online catalog (http://www.argo.furg.br), offers consultation to all the collection. In addition, reservations and renewals of all types of bibliographic material can be made on the FURG System.

Moreover, the Graduate Program in Accounting has a Journal called SINERGIA (ICEAC/FURG) and a Database, an auxiliary part of ICEAC, located in Building 4, which gathers printed and electronic documents to support teaching, research and extension/outreach activites.

The collection of FURG Library is maintained through the acquisition of bibliographic material by purchases, donations, and also by the service of exchange of publications between FURG and other national and international institutions.
